Ingredients
- 2 3/4 cups Flour
- 1/2 teaspoon Baking Powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Baking Soda
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 1 cup Softened Butter
- 1/2 cup Sugar
- 1/2 cup Corn Syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees (F).
STEP 1
Assorted Hard Candies, Coarsely Broken, Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt; set aside.
Cream butter and sugar in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy; blend in corn syrup and vanilla. Gradually blend in flour mixture.
Divide dough in half; Wrap each half in plastic wrap and refrigerate until chilled, about 20 minutes.
STEP 2
Roll out one portion of dough between 2 pieces of wax paper to 1/4" thickness; cut into fun shapes with cookie cutters. Cut out designs from shapes with dough punches or mini cookie cutters to make "windowpanes" Repeat with remaining dough; arrange cookies on lightly greased aluminum foil-lined baking sheets. Place in the freezer for about 10 minutes. Fill cut-out areas with colored candy pieces.
STEP 3
Bake for 8 - 10 minutes. Transfer cookies and aluminum foil to wire racks to cool. Gently peel cookies from aluminum foil. Makes about 2 1/2 dozen.
